Accessibility conformance
(How we meet the requirements)
We have evaluated www.rovagnati.it with respect to the requirements of the European Accessibility Act (including its local implementation where applicable), the ADA, WCAG 2.2 and Section 508 and it is:
Perceivable
- No pre-recorded audio or video lacks alternatives.
- No pre-recorded video lacks captions.
- No synchronised media that requires them lacks descriptions or alternative versions.
- No video that requires it lacks audio description.
- Content is presented in an order that reflects the logical and semantic structure, allowing assistive technologies to interpret it correctly.
- Instructions provided for understanding and operating content do not rely solely on sensory characteristics of components such as shape, colour, size, visual location, orientation or sound.
- Content adapts correctly to screen orientation, maintaining consistent display and operation.
- Where present, the purpose of input fields that accept specific information is correctly communicated to assistive technologies and implemented in a compliant way.
- Content is adaptable, allowing users to customise text size while maintaining a fully usable interface.
- Information is presented using text, avoiding images of text that are non-essential and not customisable.
- Content that does not require a two-dimensional layout reflows correctly when the displayed size is changed by the user agent.
- Essential components, including in different states, have a colour contrast with adjacent elements that meets the minimum ratio of 3:1.
- Changes to text spacing, including line height, paragraph spacing, letter spacing or word spacing, do not cause loss of information or content.
- There are no instances where additional content triggered by hover or focus disappears unexpectedly, cannot be dismissed without moving the pointer or focus, or does not remain visible.
Operable
- All functionality is available via keyboard (or similar keyboard-based assistive technology). This includes menus, links, forms, sliders and interactive controls.
- There are no keyboard traps (users can freely navigate into and out of all components).
- There is no interference with single-key shortcuts using letters, numbers or symbols.
- No time limits are imposed by content, or if present they are user-controllable, adjustable, extendable or justified by functional or legal requirements.
- All moving content, where present, includes controls for pause and/or playback control.
- No flashing or blinking content is used at levels that could trigger seizures, remaining within safe limits.
- Skip links are implemented to allow quick navigation to main content, improving accessibility and user experience.
- Screens within the service flow have titles that describe their topic or purpose.
- In screens within the service flow that can be navigated sequentially and where navigation order affects meaning and operation, focusable elements receive focus in an order that preserves meaning and operability.
- More than one way is available to locate content within the environment.
- Headings and labels clarify content and functionality.
- Elements that can receive keyboard focus are always at least partially visible within the viewport.
- All functionality does not require complex gestures to operate.
- Functionality does not activate on touch down, can be cancelled before completion and does not require continuous pressing to operate.
- For user interface components with labels that include text or images of text, the name read by assistive technologies contains the text presented visually.
- All functionality can be used without relying solely on device motion or user motion.
- All functionality can be used without requiring dragging.
- The clickable area of interactive elements is sufficiently large to ensure ease of interaction for users.
Understandable
- The language of each page is appropriately defined and used consistently throughout the service.
- All parts in other languages that require it are programmatically determinable.
- When receiving keyboard focus, user interface components do not trigger unexpected changes of context that could disorient users.
- When activated by the user via keyboard or assistive technologies, user interface components do not trigger unexpected changes of context that could disorient users.
- The navigation mechanisms present are positioned consistently throughout the service flow.
- Repeated interface elements are defined consistently to facilitate identification.
- Mechanisms for requesting support or help are consistent within the environment.
- When an input error is identified and suggestions for correction are known, these suggestions are provided to the user, except where otherwise required by regulation.
- Mechanisms are provided to prevent errors such as confirmation, cancellation or reversibility of more sensitive actions.
- Where possible, users are not required to enter the same data more than once.
- Where present, complex authentication systems have accessible alternatives.
- We write content in clear, simple language.
Robust
- Standard development technologies are used that can be interpreted by assistive technologies.
We have tested www.rovagnati.it with the most common assistive technologies across a wide range of operating system/browser configurations:
- Screen readers (such as NVDA and JAWS on Windows, VoiceOver on Mac and iOS) to confirm that all interactive elements are correctly announced and can be used.
- We also test screen magnification and high-contrast modes.
We aim for compatibility with current versions of major assistive technologies. Our code follows best practices outlined in WCAG 2.2 and EN 301 549 for robust implementation, meaning it should remain accessible as technology evolves.
Standards: based on the above, we apply the latest WCAG 2.2 AA criteria and EN 301 549 to ensure accessibility. Compliance with these standards creates a presumption of conformity with the requirements of the EAA, the ADA and other regulations based on the same technical standards.
Ongoing monitoring and maintenance
For us, accessibility is not a one-off commitment but an ongoing process. Here is how we ensure www.rovagnati.it remains accessible over time:
- Our accessibility coordinator, who oversees the accessibility of www.rovagnati.it, can be contacted at this email address: info@extra.it.
- With the support of AccessiWay, on 12/12/2025 we carried out an external expert-led manual audit to verify our accessibility compliance. We maintain a continuous cycle of testing and improvements, with ongoing support to ensure that full audits are conducted at least once a year, including manual testing by professionals who use assistive technologies.
- Our developers and content creators receive regular training on accessible design (for example, training on ARIA techniques, colour contrast and writing descriptive link text). We keep everyone up to date on accessibility best practices. The latest training was provided on 2025-02-01.
- We use automated testing tools integrated into our development process to promptly identify the most common accessibility issues (such as missing alt text or form labelling). Every code update goes through these checks.
